This innovative, interactive class will enhance your knowledge on all aspects of delivering your baby at Prentice. Taught by a certified childbirth educator, this class covers the role of the support person; stages of labor; strategies for managing early labor & working with your team of caregivers; anesthesia and delivery options; and routine postpartum care. A guided hospital tour is also included. Each couple receives a copy of Understanding Birth. This book provides online access to videos, printable charts, checklists and information sheets. The scheduling options are a 2-part weekday series - two consecutive weeks from 6 - 8:30p or as a 1 day weekend class (either Saturday or Sunday) from 8:30a - 2:30p. If you are unable to attend your class, please call at least 48 hours in advance to reschedule or to receive a class refund. This will allow your seat to be made available to another participant. PLEASE NOTE: WHEN REGISTERING, 1 REGISTRATION REFERS TO 1 COUPLE, NOT 1 PERSON.
Expectant parents delivering at Northwestern Memorial Hospital are required to have a Pediatrician for their newborn(s) prior to delivery.
