This innovative, interactive class will enhance your knowledge on all aspects of delivering your baby at Prentice. Taught by a certified childbirth educator, this class covers: the role of the support person, stages of labor, strategies for managing early labor and working with your team of caregivers. Anesthesia, delivery options and routine postpartum care will also be addressed. A guided hospital tour is also included. Each couple will receive a copy of Understanding Birth. This book provides online access to videos, printable charts, checklists and information sheets. This class is offered as a 2-part weekday series or as a 1 day class on Saturday or Sunday. Price is per couple. If you are unable to attend your class, please call at least 48 hours in advance to reschedule or to receive a class refund. This will allow your seat to be made available to another participant. Bring your confirmation email with you; you may be asked to present it at check-in.
Expectant parents delivering at Northwestern Memorial Hospital are required to have a Pediatrician for their newborn(s) prior to delivery. Please call Physician Referral at 312-926-8400 and one of our Health Consultants will assist you with referrals to Pediatricians.
