Expectant Parent Classes & More
At Northwestern Memorial Hospital, we believe education provides an essential foundation for expectant parents and positions new families for success. Whether you are expecting your first baby, expecting again or expecting multiple babies, we offer a variety of classes that involve education, techniques and support to help guide you through all stages of pregnancy.
Having Your First Baby?
As you begin your journey, make sure to sign up for our Baby 101 class series. By registering for the entire series you will be eligible for a $50 refund. Classes may also be purchased individually.

Online Classes are Available
Our childbirth preparation class is available online. It is the perfect alternative for busy parents-to-be needing a flexible class schedule or for women on bed rest. It's also a great refresher for those who are expecting again. You will learn essential information about the birthing process, comfort techniques and the role of your support person.

Parent Review
You may also want to sign up for the Parent Review, a weekly email designed to guide you through pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the first year of your baby's life.
Delivering at Prentice
Expectant parents delivering at Prentice are required to have a Pediatrician for their newborn(s) prior to delivery. Please call Physician Referral at 312-926-8400 and one of our Health Consultants will assist you with a referral to a pediatrician as well as register you for your expectant parent classes.
