Classes are located on Northwestern Memorial Hospital's campus. Specific details on directions and locations are provided after you have registered and paid for the class.
How do I check the status of my registration?
If you registered for a class online, you can log in to your account and check the status or call us at 1-877-926-4664. If you registered for a class on the phone, you can call us as 877-926-4664 to check the status of your registration.
How do I add another person to a class that I have already registered for?
If you have already registered for a class and want to add a person, call Health Resources at 1-877-926-4664.
When should I register for classes?
For Expectant Parents Classes, you should register within your first trimester. For all other classes, it is best to register promptly due to limited capacity.
What types of payments are accepted?
Credit card payments are only accepted. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. If you do not have a credit cared, call Health Resources at 1-877-926-4664.
Can you bill my health insurance for a class? Can I use my Flexible Spending Account (FSA) debit card?
We do not bill health insurances, nor do we process payments on FSA debit cards. A valid credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, and Discover) must be used. We recommend you submit a receipt to your health insurance or FSA for consideration towards reimbursement.
Are classes offered in Spanish? (¿Ofrecen ustedes clases en Español?)
We do not offer classes in Spanish. (No ofrecemos clases en Español.)
How do I pre-register for my delivery hospital admission?
We encourage you to register for delivery admission online. If you cannot register online, call our Patient Access Line at 312-926-2950 to register.
Can I take birthing classes at Northwestern Memorial even though I am delivering at another healthcare facility?
Yes. We provide services to any expectant parent needing guidance and support. Consult with your healthcare provider to determine which classes are best suited for you.
Do you offer any discounts?
If you complete all classes in the Baby 101 package, Great Expectations; Infant CPR and Safety; Breastfeeding: The Best Beginning; Newborn Baby Care; Pediatric Care: Baby's First Year, you are eligible for a $45 refund To receive the refund, call Health Resources at 1-877-926-4664. What classes should we take?
If this is your first baby, you and your partner should sign up for the Baby 101 package. This package includes all the essentials for new parents such as the Great Expectations comprehensive childbirth class, Breastfeeding, Infant CPR, Newborn Baby Care: The Basics and Pediatric Care: Baby's First Year. You might want to consider one of our specialty classes like, Bowser and the Baby if you have a dog or Comfort Measures if you're interested in a non-medicated delivery. Even if this is not your first baby we have a class just for you: Great Expectations Refresher! Expecting more than one baby? Sign up for the Multiples classes. We have a class to meet your needs, and schedule, so take a look at all of our offerings.
